Faith Bwalya has marked a new chapter in Zambia’s pageant history. At 24, the Kitwe-born model became the first Zambian to reach the quarterfinals of the Miss World competition.

Crowned Miss World Zambia on 20 April 2025, Faith had limited time to prepare. Yet, she stepped onto the global stage at the Miss World Festival in Hyderabad, India, and made an impression.

Out of over 100 contestants, Faith secured a place in the Top 40 after winning the Head-to-Head Challenge for Africa. This segment tested the contestants’ ability to speak on relevant issues and present their ideas. Her performance earned her a spot among the leading contestants from across the world.

Her progress has sparked interest and support back home. Many have followed her journey, which highlights what is possible through focus and determination. For Zambia, it is not just about a place in the finals, but the sense of visibility and representation on a global stage.

The final event will be held on 31 May 2025. As the world watches, Faith continues to carry the flag forward.
